New Year. Same Look. MONOCHROMATIC.

New Year. Same Look. MONOCHROMATIC.

Happy New Year darlings! It’s a new year and my first post of 2019 and I still have one love ….NUDE. If you have been following me on Instagram the last little while, you might have noticed nude popping up on my instagram feed ( a lot!) I have been wearing nude since the beginning of fall and most recently I’ve styled a nude “monochromatic” look. Celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Olivia Culpo have been seen strutting the streets of NYC and LA perfecting their monochromatic looks and have inspired me . So, what does “monochromatic” mean anyways? Let me teach you;)

 Monochromatic:

 Mono=One

Chromatic= Colour

 In other words, it means ONE COLOUR. Some people get confused and think that monochromatic means styling the same colour head to toe but it doesn’t have to be. If you look closely at my pictures below my nudes don’t all match (although they are fairly close, my top and heels are slightly darker than my skirt). Your monochromatic look may be all brown (or shades of brown), green (shades of green) or pink (shades of pink) etc.  A monochromatic look is timeless, and classic and is a great styling trick to make you appear taller and leaner.

 The most important thing to remember when creating this look is to wear colours that are flattering to your skin tone. This why I have chosen nude. My skin tone is olive (I can thank my father and his Sicilian roots for that;) and is flattering on my skin but, may not be not on others. For example, if you have a cool skin tone, I would suggest creating a pink or grey monochromatic look.

 No matter your shape or style, monochromatic always looks chic so don’t be afraid to experiment.
